2007 - 2021 Sprinter Owner’s Manual Seat Swivel Install

Tools required:

15mm Wrench
4mm Allen Socket

You will receive the following:

1 Driver’s side seat swivel (Marked with a D by the swivel seat lock)
1 Passenger’s side seat swivel (unmarked)
(8) Lock Nuts M10 x 1.5
(16) Counter Sink M10 x 1.5 x 25 Bolts

Before You Begin

Read the owner’s manual for your particular Sprinter to find out where your battery is located in order to disconnect the positive and negative battery terminals.

NOTE: These will be reconnected at the end of the installation

PLEASE WAIT 20 MINUTES BEFORE DISCONNECTING ANY PLUGS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION TO ALLOW FOR ANY RESIDUAL POWER TO DRAIN FROM YOUR SYSTEM!

Visually confirm that all plugs have been installed before battery reconnection, if they are not reconnected, a check engine light will appear which will need to be reset by your local dealer.

Before installing the swivel adaptor on top of the factory pedestal; pull the wiring up through the center hole as it will be harder, but not impossible to do it later.

The Sprinter Swivel Seat Adaptors are made from the strongest steel and are built with the highest quality materials available. We assure you will be very pleased with the function of these seats. These Swivel Adaptors are not DOT certified.

Step 1:

With the battery disconnected (after waiting 20 minutes), you are now clear to disconnect any plugs (power seats & airbag plugs going to the seats).
With those plugs disconnected, undo all (4) 10mm bolts that anchor the seat to the pedestal.
Carefully remove the seat from the van and install the proper swivel (driver or passenger).

Step 2:

Position the swivel seat over the factory pedestal with the locking pin at the rear and start each countersunk bolt by hand. You will need to swivel the upper plate 45º to access these holes
With the 4 pedestal bolts in place and the upper plates swiveled 45º, you can position the seat on top of the pedestal.

Note: Certain Sprinters have locating pins on the bottom of the seat. The locating pins will be in the way and may need to be cut off and removed.

Step 3:

Position the seat in place over the holes, the countersink bolt will go up from underneath and the nut will go in the track of the seat.

(Install all 4 bolts and nuts hand tight before you torque down. (It should be tightened to 45ft lbs. At this time, you can also tighten your pedestal bolts to the same torque of 45ft lbs.).

Step 4:

At this time, you’ll want to reinstall your airbag plug (yellow) and power seat plug if your vehicle is equipped with power seats.
Once both swivel seat adaptors are installed and all plugs have been verified and reconnected, you can now reconnect the positive and negative terminals on your battery.

Visually confirm that all plugs have been installed before battery reconnection, if they are not reconnected, a check engine light will appear which will need to be reset by your local dealer.

For maintenance and upkeep of your newly installed swivel seats, a spray lubricant such as white lithium grease used once a year will help in keeping the Bearing pads lubricated and free of contaminants.

E-BRAKE INSTALLATION:

Remove 2x 15mm bolts holding the emergency brake assembly to the seat mount.

Remove plastic side skirt from emergency brake assembly.

Install relocation bracket with the 2 provided counter sunk bolts.

Firmly grab emergency brake assembly and push the cable through the floor to allow it to lower into position and then bolt in the relocation bracket using the 2 existing bolts.

*Note: When you bolt on the relocation bracket, the letter “O” is etched on the outside. Make sure that is visible when installing.

Hold up the plastic brake skirt and mark as necessary to trim plastic for clearance and reinstall.

*For years 2007-2018 the last step will be mounting the seat belt anchor to the swivel with the existing bolt.
